SCORE counsels business managers
For those wishing to start a business, improve business operations or who need assistance in managing the business, a certified SCORE counselor will be at the chamber office for counseling every Thursday from 9-11 a.m.
All SCORE services are free of charge, although the Dallas chapter charges minimal fees for its workshops and webinars.
SCORE has been mentoring new and existing businesses across the nation for more than 40 years and has a network of more than 13,000 volunteers who donate their time to help entrepreneurs. As highly successful and experienced business professionals and entrepreneurs, SCORE mentors deliver valuable, timely, and practical advice. Whether you are a start-up or an existing business, SCORE mentors will help you and your business open new markets, reach new customers, and achieve new goals.
Richardson’s SCORE counselor is Bob Barrese, who has an extensive career in commercial insurance as an senior company executive, product development manager, broker and consultant Bob has emerged as a truly unbiased evaluator of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) programs. He has created and managed captives for insurance companies, associations, affinity groups and Fortune 1,000 companies. His broad perspective working across all segments of the industry places him in a unique position to help clients better navigate the complexities of the ART market. With over 100 feasibility studies he has the expertise and unbiased experience to help clients seeking to better understand captives and self-insured alternatives.
Bob is also engaged in mentoring young entrepreneurs. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at The DEC Network and former President of SCORE Mentors Dallas. Bob has also provided mentoring to SMU's Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship, The University of Texas-Dallas and with the Micro Mentors organization.
